Walked in on a whim after lunch in search of something sweet. I got the blueberry limoncello slice which was absolutely delicious. It wasn't overly sweet thanks to the tartness of the lemon, and the mousse was delightfully airy. I might go back to get another slice to take home...
I'm glad I got to try the #1 bakery in Seattle according to Yelp! I went on a Friday morning around 9am and it wasn't too busy. It's a cute corner space with a kind staff. I got 5 pastries and a slice of their special chocolate cake. Total cost was around $40, which is fair for a bakery. I only tried the twice baked chocolate croissant (which I've never seen anywhere else!) and the cake. Both were some of the most rich and decadent desserts I've had. Overall, a great bakery if you're looking to treat yourself The croissant was heavy, flaky, buttery and sweet. The bitterness of the chocolate balanced it well and there was also a layer of what seemed to be frangipan. The cake itself was very moist and a really good cake. The layers of frosting and ganache were actually more on the bitter side, which probably is better because it's a heavier dessert so you wouldn't want it to be too sweet.
I came in for morning breakfast and they had customers coming and going. There was no indoor seating and display cases were all filled. Multiple staff work the line so service was great with almost no wait. I got my pastry warmed up to eat in the spot and also adjusted my drink with the server. 7/10 Vanilla Latte $5 12oz only - Friend told me they make their vanilla syrup in house and I even asked for my drink to be adjusted with extra syrup but still an average latte. 8/10 Twice Baked Chocolate Almond Croissant $6.75 - it's huge and heavy! Considering splitting it or it'll be a pretty big breakfast. I got it warm and it had a crunchy exterior, airy and smooth chocolate interior. Sweetness was not overwhelming as the chocolate amount was just right for the bread with each bite. Slightly a dry but goes well with a drink.
Bakery Nouveau is simply incredible. That says it the best. I decided to pick up the best croissant we have ever had, (outside of Paris) this Mother's Day morning, and I was shocked, but I also understood why there was a line of at least 50 people ahead of me. I was 15 minutes early, and by the time I made it to the front door, there were another 100 people in line before me. But it is all worth it. Of course due the line I decided to pick up a couple of desserts as well. The Tiramisu and the Strawberry Tart looked phenomenal. Bakery Nouveau was on my short list of places I had to go to before we move to Oregon this week. I will miss the fantastic treats, sandwiches, croque monsieur's etc. They are all simply incredible.
I've had this bakery on my list for so long and I was finally in town so I knew I had to check it out! I came around 10am on a Friday to try the famed twice baked almond croissant. I also ordered a kouign amann that was fresh out of the oven so it was still toasty! Service was very fast since they only accommodate takeout. The pastries tasted incredible! The twice baked almond croissant had a nice crunch on the outside and the flavors were delicious. Definitely different from a traditional croissant since it's more dense but still super yummy! The kouign amann was amazing as well. It was buttery and flakey and the perfect amount of sweetness. I will definitely be back when I'm in town again!
The double baked almond croissant is so good. It's quite sweet but the toasted crispy edges were just so texturally satisfying. I also got a mushroom croissant, which was good but the mushroom mixture tasted a little too concentrated, so I needed to eat it with some of the nonfilled edges to balance. The butter croissant was also really good; it was light and airy and the butter flavors came through. It's a little difficult to find parking.
Ordered a mocha chocolate cheesecake from here as a birthday cake. It's small but hefty. Beautifully smooth and decadent. I don't even like coffee but this was wonderful.
Stopped by after having lunch. Got the cherry blossom cake, passion fruit mousse and German chocolate cake. The cherry blossom didn't have much flavor. Like it wasn't too sweet but it wasn't sweet enough at the same time. Very moist though, maybe too wet? It's cute though. The passion fruit mousse was better. The crust at the bottom is nice. Not hard and the passion fruit flavor is good. The German chocolate cake was soooo good. My friend said it's too chocolatey but I loved it. The coconut layers was amazing and not too coconuty. Inside was cute. There are sooo many selections to choose from and surprisingly price was not bad for how big they are and being in Seattle.
Wow, what a gem! I had the turkey and havarti croissant sandwich and a salted caramel macaron. The croissant was so flaky, buttery, and soft. The turkey and havarti were clearly high quality just by the looks of it. The stone ground mustard adds a nice little zest to the sandwich. It was amazing! The salted caramel macaron was melt in your mouth soft and so delicious! One of the best macarons I've ever had. The staff is friendly, attentive, and kind! The lady that served me even gave me more ice for water when I didn't even ask. What an amazing little bakery with high quality, delicious food! My only wish is that there were places to sit and eat as it has such a cute ambiance.
When it comes to baked goods, fresh bread, or sweet cravings, Bakery Nouveau will always be the answer. Every time I walk in, I'm greeted by the friendliest faces, a colorful display of macrons, cakes, and scones, all in front of a wall of baguettes and loafs. To the employee who overheard me saying how I had never had a fair scone before and gifted me the unfair scone - I thank you. Since then, I've sent so many friends in to try your treats, and have made Nouveau part of my regular grocery rotation. Thank you!
